A Global Perspective on Communication

My name is Marco Garcia, a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist living in Jacksonville, Florida. My passions include helping all those with communication challenges join the conversation and have their voices heard.

Language has always been the lens through which I see the world. My journey into speech-language pathology began uniquely: while teaching at a French immersion preschool and later teaching English in France and South Korea, I witnessed firsthand how vital communication is to our sense of belonging. I saw the challenges people face when their "voice" is limited—whether by a language barrier or a clinical disorder—and I knew I wanted to help bridge that gap.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in French Literature from Florida State University and my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Jacksonville University. This blend of linguistic study and clinical science allows me to approach therapy with a broad perspective—one that values the cultural, social, and emotional weight of every word spoken.

The word vista means a clear view or vision for the future. My goal is to bring a clear vision and path to the recovery of those who need help communicating. I bring years of experience across the lifespan, from early childhood intervention, schools, to adult neuro-rehab in skilled nursing and outpatient settings to help you to a new vista in you or your loved ones life. Areas of specialty include:

Adult Rehabilitation: Supporting recovery in adults following stroke or traumatic brain injury (TBI) with disorders of speech, language, swallowing, and cognition (thinking and memory)

Bilingual Early and Childhood Intervention: Helping our youngest communicators find their footing, reduce frustration, and promote a strong foundation in language and speech development

Literacy-Based Therapy: I have a profound belief in using reading and literature as a powerful tool for both language development in children and cognitive recovery in adults
